--FCPS can't help - we need you!

Help Us Enhance the Auditorium

We are in need of your help immediately. Centreville High School will not get any renovations via our ranking in Fairfax County Public Schools for many years.  Our theater which is used by our students, teachers, administrators, and community desperately needs an audio/visual uplift.  We have a bid that includes an equalizer, speakers, and microphones, etc. in excess of  $5000.  Drama club, PTSA, and Mr. Campbell have all contributed to this amount; however, we are still in need of more. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause because we are extremely outdated and it would be a significant contribution for the entire community.  Please make checks payable to CVHS, with THEATER in the memo section. Your donation, in any amount, will go a long way to help this significant renovation. Send or drop-off your checks in the CVHS main office.

Thank You,
Cathy Moraco
PTSA President

--Local Parents present research and ideas

What is FAIRGRADE?

FAIRGRADE is a parent group whose research has demonstrated that current FCPS grading policies put students at a disadvantage with respect to college admissions, merit scholarships, honors programs, NCAA athletic eligibility, and car insurance “good-driver” discounts. If you’d like to view an in-depth presentation, FAIRGRADE will be presenting its research findings on May 6 at 7:30pm in the Centreville High School Auditorium.

Parents: Help Resolve the FCPS Bus Driver Shortage

The Superintendent and the Chief Operating Officer of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) are inviting FCPS affiliated and non-affiliated PTA School Units to team with them in an effort to help resolve its critical bus driver shortage being experienced as its school population grows.

Traditional methods of recruiting drivers are not keeping pace with the need for new drivers.  This shortage challenges the ability of the school’s transportation system to provide all the requested support and to adequately plan for supporting future needs. To read more at the Northern Virginia PTA website please click here to read the details about the situation and the opportunity - financial incentives included!
